WHAT IS CBD?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound found primarily in the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. It’s one of many powerful cannabinoids found in hemp, and is known for supporting body and mind in various ways.
CAN CBD GET ME HIGH?
No, CBD will not get you high. CBD is naturally non-intoxicating. The feeling that you do get is a feeling of relaxation, calm, balance and peace.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEMP AND MARIJUANA?
Hemp and marijuana look and smell the same. The difference is that hemp plants contain no more than 0.3 percent (by dry weight) of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive substance found in marijuana. By comparison, marijuana typically contains 5 to 20 percent THC.
In other words, Cannabis plants with 0.3 percent or less of THC are hemp and Cannabis plants with more than 0.3 percent THC are marijuana.
Trace amounts of THC are not enough to cause any intoxication. CBD from hemp provides the same level of endocannabinoid system support without the high, or the risk of marijuana’s potential side effects.
Hemp is Cannabis. Marijuana is Cannabis. Hemp is NOT Marijuana.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CBD &THC?
CBD is primarily derived from the hemp plant, is non-intoxicating (produces no “high” effects) and is used in a variety of health and wellness products. THC is primarily derived from the marijuana plant, can be intoxicating (produces “high” effects and side effects) and is commonly found in recreational or medical marijuana products.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CBD OIL?
Full-spectrum CBD products contain all the cannabinoids, plant terpenes, flavonoids, vitamins and minerals of the original hemp plant. These compounds work together to multiply the potential health benefits of each of the product components. This is known as the entourage effect. Full-spectrum CBD also provides omega-3 fatty acids and all 20 essential amino acids.
Full-spectrum CBD could contain trace amounts of THC (up to .3%), the cannabinoid responsible for marijuana’s psychoactive high. This amount of THC is not enough to cause intoxication.
Broad-spectrum CBD products take the Full Spectrum hemp extract and further process it to remove all traces of THC. The resulting CBD is 100% THC-free but retains the other naturally occurring beneficial compounds of the original hemp source. Similar to Full Spectrum, these compounds work together to strengthen the potential effects.
CBD isolate is cannabidiol in its purest form, a full-spectrum product that has been further processed to remove the plant compounds. All that remains is a white powder that is at least 99% pure CBD.
When choosing CBD products, many people prefer Full-Spectrum or-Broad Spectrum CBD over CBD Isolate because of the potential to benefit from the Entourage Effect. There are more than 400 trace components found in hemp plants, including plant terpenes, flavonoids, vitamins and minerals. When cannabinoids, plant terpenes, flavonoids and vitamins have the ability to work together, they have the potential to magnify the benefits of the others—strengthening the potential effects. This is called The Entourage Effect: the whole has a greater impact than its individual parts.
